Posted by: | CommentsGo check on Ginny’s post over on That’s Church.
Yup, THAT is church. When I found out a few months ago that a Pittsburgher was going to be on True Blood, I was all “Yay!!!” The fact that he’s…um…easy on the eyes? Even better.
Check One Off the Bucket List
Posted by: | CommentsFirst I’m going to say this: Please remember that I’m SO NOT CRAFTY. Creative? Sort of. Computer literate? Very. Crafty? notsomuch.
“Paint a picture” is on my Bucket List. Number 29. Check. I recently made our family room/play room combination look a little more grown up. I still have some artwork to replace. Currently there are a few pictures hanging from the kids. Today, I painted this:
Yeah, it’s nothing too great. But I did it, it matches the colors in the room, and it saved me from buying some other artwork. I have to do another one for the other side of my window. I bought a two-pack of canvas, some acrylic paint and some brushes. all the supplies cost me about twenty bucks. So, I guess I’m saving myself some money, too. If I’m not TOO embarrassed, I’ll share the next one, too.
Have a great day!!! Headed out for some girl time at the outlets tonight
How Many Dimensions Are REALLY Needed?
Posted by: | CommentsI took the girls to the movies yesterday. We saw Ramona and Beezus, and it was really cute. Even though I cried a little. So did Becca. Chloe? notsomuch.
Anywhoo, Ramona and Beezus was NOT in 3-D. Amazing. You know why? Every movie in the world now is offered in 3-D. As we watched the previews, EVERY SINGLE PREVIEW said “in digital 3-D.” So what. Yes, 3-D can be cool. We say Toy Story 3 in 3-D. Why? Because that movie was a big deal. My kids had been waiting for over a year to see it. Figured it was a nice extra treat to have that extra dimension. But it really ISN’T necessary for most movies. It’s sucking up theater space (you need one to show the 2-D and one for 3-D) and the cost is insane!!!! I’m boycotting all 3-D movies.
Phew. OK. I feel better now. Thanks for listening.

Shit Other People’s Kids Ruined
Posted by: | CommentsIf you haven’t checked out the site Shit My Kids Ruined, go and do it. Right now. I love this site! For many reasons. First off, it makes me feel better about MY kids. They haven’t ruined that much shit. Especially in one fail swoop. Yeah, they ruined my couch, but it took them years to do it. You have to feel bad for all the people who posted pictures. And, of course, because I’m writing this right now, one of my kids will probably destroy one of my prized possessions. I’ve chosen some of my favorites:
If you click on the pictures, you can see the little story that goes with it on ShitMyKidsRuined.com. That’s your little Saturday treat
Miscellaneous Lint
Posted by: | CommentsHere are a few random thoughts that have been circling my brain:
33 more days until school starts Just sayin’
I’m sold – Eating breakfast really is a good idea Yesterday I actually ate breakfast. Not my typical “Oh, I’ve been awake for two hours drinking coffee, maybe I should grab a granola bar” breakfast. I had eggs and toast. Right after I woke up. And you know what? I actually had energy. All day. Even though Becca had woke me up at 5 am complaining that she felt icky. I had so much energy that I thought about starting the exercise DVDs that have been sitting in my house for a month.
The ones that were sitting on top of a table, looking at me, taunting me. So, I did what any other busy, suburban mom would do. I stuck the DVDs in a drawer, so they would stop looking at me. Did I actually start those DVDs yesterday? Well, no. But I will. Really.
To skydive or not to skydive If you’re my friend on facebook, you may have seen the great skydiving debate. I have the opportunity to go skydiving. The day after my 40th birthday. It’s on the bucket list. I’ve had people tell me to do it, and I’ve had people tell me not to do it. The reason that people gave me not to do it is the same reason I’m having problems…the kids. Officially, I’m still undecided. But, I think that my mommy guilt will win out. I’m thinking that skydiving around my 50th birthday might work a little better. The girls will be 15 and 17 then, and they could survive without their mom.
Dog hair has taken over my house I’m really amazed at the amount of dog hair!!! (Especially because, when we got Rex, the breeder pointed out that he was half poodle so he wouldn’t shed. That was a big ol’ bunch of bullshit.) The new leather couch is like a dog hair magnet. And, all you dog experts out there, are there a couple of times a year when the shedding is extra bad? I’ve never owned a dog as an adult until Rex, so I’m sort of a rookie in this area!
True Blood Just wanted to mention that I have been THOROUGHLY enjoying the new season of True Blood. I like how it’s sticking to the books, but added the whole “werewolves on V” thing. And even though Tara’s ‘boyfriend’ has come into the picture a little early, I’m liking it.
Well, these were things that were all going to get their own posts, but I just didn’t have enough stuff to say about them. Or time. Or energy. You get it.
And that’s all I have to say about that.
