Goodbye, Summer

Sorry I didn’t write all weekend :(  We were sucking the last little bit out of summer.  I had a grown up night out for my birthday on Friday that included a nice dinner with wine and a filet, gambling, grown up drinks, a designated driver and a babysitter at home.  It was nice to feel like “Heather” instead of “mom” for a little bit.

So, Becca starts first grade today.  No problems waking her up, either.  She’s very excited.  I hope that lasts for at least a few more years!  Chloe doesn’t start preschool until after Labor Day, so she’s sleeping in…still enjoying her summer.

There’s part of me that’s sad for school to start.  It was nice to be with the girls (most of the time), and I really enjoyed our lazy mornings.  On the other hand, I’m ready to get back to our schedule.  It will be nice to not search for something to do every day of our lives.  There’s really the potential to spend a lot of money over the summer!  So, happy first day of school to all (even if it’s NOT the first day of school for you).  I hope you had a great summer.  And I’m gearing up for my favorite holiday…Halloween!
